The Stanford Cardinal started strong, putting up 44 points in the first half against the Wolverines' 45. The home team's offense was firing on all cylinders as they made an impressive 50 percent of their field goal attempts and were flawless from the free-throw line, sinking all four attempts. Their three-point shooting was equally notable, hitting 12 out of 27 attempts for a solid 44 percent completion rate.

On defense, Stanford managed to block three shots and matched Michigan with nine steals each. The team worked cohesively to distribute the ball effectively, amassing a total of 20 assists which surpassed their opponent's count by six. However, despite these efforts and maintaining an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.54, they could not secure enough rebounds or capitalize on turnovers as efficiently as needed.

The Wolverines demonstrated strong offensive execution throughout both halves but particularly shone in points off turnovers where they scored an additional four points compared to Stanford's tally. They also outperformed in fast break situations with a total of 18 fast break points versus just five from Stanford.

Michigan's field goal percentage stood at nearly ten percent higher than that of Stanford's at approximately 59 percent for field goals overall including two-pointers where they had an impressive success rate of about two-thirds made shots. Their ability to convert opportunities into points was evident in their scoring within paint totaling to almost four more than what Stanford managed.

Rebounding played a crucial role; although both teams grabbed similar numbers overall (29 for Michigan and 27 for Stanford), it was Michigan’s defensive rebounding that gave them an edge over their counterparts from Palo Alto who collected fewer defensive rebounds.

As fans look ahead after this hard-fought contest between these two non-conference rivals, attention turns toward future matchups where resilience will be key for success on court again.

The next challenge awaiting the Cardinal will be against Northern Iowa Panthers at Imperial Arena on November 25th scheduled for broadcast starting at around half past one in morning local time via ESPN+.
