In a conference game that saw two ties and one lead change, the Stanford Cardinal struggled to keep pace with the Colorado Buffaloes. Despite starting strong and ending the first half tied at 39 points each, Stanford could not maintain their momentum into the second half. The Buffaloes outscored them by 22 points in this period, leading to their defeat.

The Cardinal's field goal percentage was a modest 42 percent from an attempt of 57 shots. From beyond the arc, they managed to convert only five out of 23 attempts resulting in a three-point shooting percentage of roughly 22 percent. Their free throw performance was slightly better but still lacking efficiency with nine successful shots out of fifteen attempts for a free throw percentage around 60 percent.

Stanford's players showed some resilience under pressure as they scored thirty points in paint and capitalized on turnovers by adding another fourteen points to their tally. They also demonstrated teamwork with sixteen assists over ten turnovers which gave them an assist-to-turnover ratio of about two.

On defense, however, they were less effective than their opponents; managing only three blocks compared to five from Colorado and securing twenty-four rebounds against thirty-eight by Colorado – twelve defensive rebounds for Stanford versus twenty-four for Colorado and five offensive rebounds compared to nine for Colorado.

The Buffaloes displayed superior shooting accuracy throughout the game with an overall field goal percentage approximately at fifty-three percent from fifty-five attempts. They were particularly lethal from three-point range hitting nine out of nineteen attempts which translates into roughly forty-seven percent success rate. Their prowess continued at the free-throw line where they made seventeen out of eighteen shots giving them an impressive ninety-four percent accuracy rate.

Colorado also excelled in converting opportunities into points; scoring seven fast break points and fourteen second-chance points while capitalizing on turnovers by adding eight more points off them.

Looking ahead after this tough loss on road soil, fans can look forward to seeing if Stanford can bounce back when they host Arizona State Sun Devils at Maples Pavilion located in Stanford, California on February 9th at seven PM Pacific Time (10 PM Eastern Time).
