The game ended with the Irish securing a 47-40 victory, bringing their record to 1-0, while the Cardinal fell to 0-1. In the first half, both teams struggled offensively, but it was the defensive prowess of ND that stood out. He scored a total of 13 points throughout the game and contributed with three rebounds and one assist. Despite his efforts, Stanford's shooting percentage was notably low at just 23 percent for field goals in this half.

Second Half

As play resumed after halftime, both teams sought to adjust their strategies. The Trees showed some resilience by scoring 23 points in this period; however, they were unable to close the gap significantly due to continued offensive struggles and missed opportunities from beyond the arc—hitting only four out of thirty attempts for three-pointers.

Ebuka Okorie made notable contributions off-the-bench by adding seven points along with six rebounds and two assists during his time on court. His performance provided much-needed energy for Stanford but wasn't enough against ND’s solid defensive setup which included four blocks throughout their gameplay.

The pivotal moment came when ND capitalized on turnovers committed by Stanford—scoring eleven crucial points off these mistakes which ultimately widened their lead further into unassailable territory late into proceedings.
