Syracuse Orange to Clash with New Hampshire Wildcats at JMA Wireless Dome

As the Syracuse Orange prepare to host the New Hampshire Wildcats at the JMA Wireless Dome, fans are eager for a glimpse of what could unfold on the court. The upcoming game, scheduled for November 7th, promises to be an intriguing matchup, and based on recent performances, there's reason to believe that Syracuse has a significant edge.

The Orange's last encounter with an opponent at their home venue was against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on March 1st. Despite falling short by 20 points in a high-scoring affair where they conceded 96 points, Syracuse showed promise offensively by putting up 76 points themselves. Their field goal percentage stood at an impressive 48 percent and they excelled from the free-throw line with a near-perfect performance of 90 percent.

In contrast, their most recent game overall was part of the ACC - Second Round against Wake Forest Demon Deacons on March 8th. Although it ended in a narrow defeat with only three points separating them from victory (77-74), there were positive takeaways for Syracuse. The team demonstrated tenacity in defense with five blocks and an impressive haul of steals totaling fourteen. Offensively, their three-point shooting was particularly noteworthy as they converted nearly 59 percent of attempts from beyond the arc.

The statistics suggest that while defense might be an area requiring attention – especially after allowing Wake Forest to score freely inside – Syracuse's offensive firepower is not in question. With players capable of heating up from downtown and converting free throws reliably under pressure, fans can expect another strong showing on offense when they face UNH.

On paper, New Hampshire may not seem like formidable opponents compared to conference adversaries; however, underestimating any team can lead to unexpected outcomes. It will be crucial for Syracuse to maintain defensive discipline without stifling their offensive rhythm that has seen them put up substantial numbers even in losses.

Looking ahead towards this non-conference clash under the dome lights offers both excitement and opportunity for redemption after close defeats earlier this year. Fans should anticipate a determined effort from SYR as they aim to capitalize on their home-court advantage and secure victory before loyal supporters.

Mark your calendars for November 7th when these two teams go head-to-head at JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse starting at midnight Eastern Time (ET). For those unable to attend in person, you can catch all the action live via internet broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
