In their last game on January 13 against the Houston Cougars, ranked second nationally, TCU emerged victorious with a nail-biting one-point lead, finishing 68-67. This win was not just about points; it was about resilience. Despite shooting only 39 percent from inside the arc and an abysmal 55 percent from the free-throw line, they managed to edge out their highly-ranked opponents. Their three-point shooting was particularly impressive at an outstanding 53 percent accuracy.

The Horned Frogs' defense also played a pivotal role in this victory. With four blocks and three steals contributing significantly to their defensive efforts, they showed that they could hold their ground against formidable offenses.

Prior to that game, on January 11 against Oklahoma Sooners (ranked ninth), TCU showcased their offensive prowess by putting up an impressive score of 80 points while maintaining a solid field goal percentage of 44 percent and sinking free throws at an enviable rate of 77 percent. They were relentless in transition as well, scoring fast break points that kept them ahead in what turned into quite a high-scoring affair.

However, it's not just about offense for TCU; their ability to disrupt plays is noteworthy too. In another recent match-up on January 6 against Kansas Jayhawks (also ranked second), despite falling short by two points with an end score of 81-83 in favor of Kansas Jayhawks, TCU demonstrated tenacity on defense with sixteen steals which contributed significantly towards twenty-two points off turnovers.

Looking ahead at Cincinnati Bearcats' home turf presents both challenge and opportunity for TCU. The Bearcats will have home advantage but based on past performances; it's clear that when pushed into tight corners or facing higher-ranked teams like Houston Cougars or Kansas Jayhawks - teams comparable in strength to Cincinnati - TCU has shown they can rise above expectations.

With such close games behind them and evident growth each time they step onto the court – whether through strategic assists-turnover ratios or sheer defensive grit – there's every reason for fans to believe that when January 16 rolls around at Sixth Third Arena at precisely six o'clock in the evening Eastern Time Zone (ET), those tuning into ESPN+ might witness another thrilling chapter added to this season’s story for the Horned Frogs.

So mark your calendars: It’s going down next Wednesday evening where you can catch all live action online via ESPN+. Will you be watching as history unfolds?
