Horned Frogs Edge Out Cowboys in a Close Encounter at Gallagher-Iba Arena

The TCU Horned Frogs emerged victorious with a 74-69 win over the Oklahoma State Cowboys, improving their season record to an impressive tally. The game, held at Gallagher-Iba Arena, saw the Horned Frogs display resilience and skill to secure the win. The Cowboys fought valiantly but fell short despite a strong showing in the first half where they led with 37 points against TCU's 33.

The Horned Frogs' offense was on full display as they shot an impressive 53 percent from the field and dominated inside with 46 points in the paint. Their two-point shooting was particularly effective, hitting 64 percent of their attempts. Despite struggling from beyond the arc with only a 20 percent success rate for three-pointers, TCU's overall offensive execution proved too much for Oklahoma State.

Defensively, TCU also stood out by grabbing a total of 38 rebounds – nine of which were offensive – giving them crucial second-chance opportunities that resulted in seven additional points. They also managed to block four shots and steal possession three times during the course of play.

One area where both teams showed parity was turnovers; TCU had nine while Oklahoma State had five. However, it was TCU's ability to capitalize on these turnovers that made a difference – scoring six points off them compared to Oklahoma State's thirteen.

The game remained competitive throughout with eleven times tied and eight lead changes indicating how closely matched both teams were. But it was ultimately TCU’s tenacity that saw them through as they outscored their opponents by nine points in the second half.

As fans look ahead, they can mark their calendars for when the Horned Frogs will face off against Baylor Bears at Foster Pavilion on January 27th at 3:00 PM local time (Central Time). This encounter promises to be another exciting chapter in this season’s campaign and fans can catch all the action live on ESPN2 channel number 209.
