Temple Dominates at Tudor Fieldhouse with a Commanding Victory Over Rice

The Temple Owls soared to a decisive victory against the Rice Owls, improving their record to an impressive tally. The final score stood at 65-43, showcasing Temple's dominance on the court. The home team, Rice, struggled to keep pace and now reflects on their performance with a less favorable record.

At Tudor Fieldhouse in Houston, the visiting Temple Owls displayed remarkable efficiency and teamwork. They shot an impressive 48 percent from the field and an even more notable 44 percent from beyond the arc. Their offensive prowess was complemented by a solid defensive effort that included seven blocks and eight steals.

Temple's ability to control the paint was evident as they scored 26 points in this critical area of the court. Additionally, they capitalized on turnovers by scoring nine points off their opponent's mistakes. The team also demonstrated good ball movement with 11 assists.

The rebounding battle was won by Rice with a total of 39 rebounds compared to Temple's 31; however, this did not translate into success on the scoreboard for them. Despite grabbing more offensive rebounds than Temple, Rice could not convert these opportunities into sufficient points.

Temple showed discipline throughout the game committing only one team turnover and maintaining composure which resulted in zero ejections or flagrant fouls—a testament to their focus under pressure.

A standout statistic for Temple was their free throw shooting where they made seven out of ten attempts resulting in a solid 70 percent completion rate—a crucial factor in extending their lead throughout the game.

Conversely, Rice struggled significantly with shooting accuracy across all fronts—only managing a meager seven percent from three-point range and hitting just over one-third of their two-point attempts. Their overall field goal percentage stood at just 26 percent—a stark contrast to Temple’s efficient scoring display.

Looking ahead for fans of Temple University basketball: The next game will be hosted at Liacouras Center against Tulsa Golden Hurricane on March 2nd at noon Eastern Time (ET). This encounter can be watched live online via ESPN+. As both teams prepare for this matchup, fans are sure to anticipate another exciting display of collegiate basketball talent.
