The Temple Owls and the Charlotte 49ers faced off in a closely contested quarterfinal, with the Owls emerging victorious with a final score of 58-54. The Temple Owls' season record now stands at an impressive 0-0, while the Charlotte 49ers hold an equal record of 0-0.

The game was characterized by intense defensive efforts from both sides. The Temple Owls managed to block three shots and steal the ball six times, showcasing their defensive capabilities. Offensively, they were able to convert on fast breaks, scoring a total of 13 points in these situations. Despite shooting only 36 percent from the field and struggling at the free throw line with just over half of their attempts made (52 percent), they still found ways to keep themselves ahead on the scoreboard.

The second half saw an impressive surge by the Temple team as they scored more than double their first-half points tally. They finished strong with a significant contribution from two-point range, making fifteen out of thirty-five attempts for a respectable shooting percentage of forty-three percent. Their effort inside was further highlighted by scoring twenty-four points in paint.

Rebounding played a crucial role for both teams as each grabbed forty-one rebounds throughout the game; however, it was notable that personal rebounds accounted for thirty-nine out of those for Temple compared to thirty-seven for Charlotte. The offensive boards were particularly important for second-chance opportunities where Temple capitalized with nine second-chance points.

On offense, assists were hard to come by due to tough defense on both ends; however, six assists demonstrated teamwork among players wearing Owl jerseys despite having an equal number of turnovers (six). Their assist-to-turnover ratio stood even at one point zero.

Charlotte's performance was marked by better accuracy inside as they shot fifty-two percent on two-point attempts but struggled beyond the arc hitting only seventeen percent from three-point land. They also excelled at free throws making eighty-one percent but could not overcome their eleven turnovers which limited their offensive flow.

As fans look forward to future games, attention turns toward another exciting matchup featuring Temple University's basketball team against Florida Atlantic University's squad at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth on March 16th at around 4:30 PM US/Central Time Zone. This upcoming contest will be broadcasted live on ESPN2 where fans can tune in to support their team.
