Showdown at Thompson-Boling Arena: Tennessee Volunteers Host Ole Miss Rebels in Men's Basketball

Looking back at their last game on December 21 against Tarleton State Texans, the Volunteers secured a comfortable victory with a score of 65-46. Their defense was particularly noteworthy, as they racked up six blocks and limited the Texans to just 30 percent shooting from the field. Offensively, they were efficient from the free-throw line, hitting 77 percent of their shots which contributed significantly to their win.

In another notable performance on December 17 against North Carolina State Wolfpack in San Antonio, Tennessee showcased its offensive prowess by putting up an impressive 79 points. Their three-point shooting was lethal as they hit an outstanding 44 percent from beyond the arc. The team also demonstrated excellent ball distribution with a total of 22 assists.

The most dominant display by Tennessee came during their game against Georgia Southern Eagles on December 13 where they triumphed with a scoreline of 74-56. They dominated inside by scoring an overwhelming majority of points in paint and outrebounding the Eagles significantly.

The upcoming match-up presents another opportunity for Tennessee to capitalize on its strengths – tenacious defense combined with sharpshooting accuracy from both inside and outside the perimeter. While Ole Miss Rebels will undoubtedly come prepared and look to challenge them at every turn, it is hard not to favor Tennessee given their recent form.

The Rebels should not be underestimated though; any lapse in concentration or execution by TENN could very well be exploited by MISS's squad who will come looking for an upset. However, if TENN maintains its defensive solidity while continuing its offensive efficiency as seen in previous games this season, it is likely that fans will witness another strong performance leading them towards victory lane once more.

Volunteers' supporters can catch all the action live on January 6th at Thompson-Boling Arena starting at 6:00 PM Eastern Time (ET). The game will also be broadcast nationally on SEC Network channel number 611 for those who prefer watching from home or elsewhere.
