Volunteers Dominate Razorbacks in Commanding Victory at Bud Walton Arena

The Tennessee Volunteers, ranked 8th nationally, delivered a resounding performance against the Arkansas Razorbacks with a final score of 92-63. The Volunteers' season record now stands impressively at 20-4, while the Razorbacks face a setback with their record at 14-10.

The Volunteers showcased an exceptional shooting display, converting 68 percent of their two-point attempts and finishing with an overall field goal percentage of 57. Their proficiency from the free-throw line was evident as they made 21 out of 24 attempts, translating to an impressive accuracy rate of 88 percent. The team's offensive efforts were bolstered by scoring a substantial number of points in the paint totaling to 48.


Defensively, Tennessee was just as dominant. They managed to secure a total of nine steals and put up four blocks against the Razorbacks. This defensive prowess contributed to their ability to capitalize on turnovers, scoring an impressive total of 28 points off turnovers.


Rebounding played a crucial role in Tennessee's victory; they outrebounded Arkansas by grabbing a total of 36 rebounds – eight offensive and twenty-eight defensive ones. This advantage also led to them scoring twelve second-chance points throughout the game.


On individual performances for Tennessee, it was clearly a team effort that secured this victory as assists were distributed among players leading to fourteen assists overall which reflects their teamwork on court.


Conversely, Arkansas struggled with their shooting efficiency throughout the game making only forty percent from two-point range and thirty-eight percent overall from the field. Despite managing more steals than Tennessee with twelve steals compared to nine for Volunteers', they could not convert these opportunities effectively into points.


Arkansas did show resilience in fast break situations where they scored eleven fast break points but still fell short when compared with Tennessee’s fourteen fast break points which further highlights Volunteer’s superior transition play during this matchup.
