At Neville Arena, home of the Auburn Tigers, fans witnessed an intense matchup where defense played a critical role. The Texas A&M Aggies put up a resilient fight but were unable to overcome their opponents. Despite trailing at halftime with only 22 points to the Tiger's 30, they managed to add another 33 points in the second half. However, it wasn't enough as Auburn extended their lead by scoring an additional 36 points after halftime.

The Aggies showcased some solid defensive plays with a total of two blocks and an impressive count of eleven steals throughout the game. Their offensive efforts were led by free throws where they excelled with an accuracy rate of eighty-four percent from the line. However, struggles from beyond the arc were evident as they converted only sixteen percent of their three-point attempts.

Rebounding was one area where Texas A&M held its ground; they dominated on boards collecting forty-four rebounds including seventeen offensive rebounds which contributed to ten second-chance points. Unfortunately for them, turnovers proved costly; nineteen in total which allowed Auburn to score seventeen points off these opportunities.

On individual performances for Texas A&M: players fought hard under pressure but couldn't find enough consistency in shooting from two-point range (thirty-five percent) or field goals overall (twenty-nine percent). Points in paint were also hard-fought; twenty-two recorded for them against Auburn's twenty-eight.

The opposing team displayed strong ball movement ending up with eighteen assists and better shooting efficiency both from two-point range (fifty-two percent) and overall field goal percentage (thirty-nine percent). The Tigers capitalized on fast breaks scoring fourteen fast break points compared to just three by Texas A&M.
