From tip-off, it was clear that the Longhorns were in control. They ended the first half leading by 31 points and maintained their momentum throughout. Their offensive execution was sharp; they shot an impressive 51 percent from field goal range and an even more remarkable 59 percent on two-point attempts. Beyond their scoring efficiency, they also displayed a well-rounded game with contributions across various aspects including rebounds and assists.

The Longhorns' defense was equally formidable, amassing nine blocks and ten steals over the course of play. This defensive pressure contributed to a staggering total of 23 points off turnovers for Texas. Furthermore, their fast break execution was lethal as evidenced by their fast break points totaling up to 29.

On offense, Texas showcased its depth with twenty assists indicating strong teamwork and ball movement against Incarnate Word's defense which managed only six assists in comparison. The three-point line also favored Texas as they made ten shots from beyond the arc at a solid rate rounding up to approximately 39 percent.

The Cardinals struggled against this robust defense put forth by Texas but managed to score some points inside painting eighteen on record for themselves. They attempted more three-pointers than two-pointers but only converted four into scores resulting in about a mere seventeen percent success rate from long distance.

Despite these efforts by Incarnate Word's players who fought hard till end accumulating forty rebounds (twenty-three defensive and thirteen offensive), it wasn't enough against such high-caliber opposition like that presented by Texas who outrebounded them with forty-five (thirty-three defensive and ten offensive).
