From tip-off at the Moody Center, it was clear that the Longhorns were on a mission. They established dominance early on, ending the first half with an overwhelming lead. The home team's offensive execution was clinical; they shot 51 percent from the field and an exceptional 47 percent from beyond the arc. Their defense was equally formidable, notching up six blocks and eight steals over the course of play.

The Longhorns' teamwork shone through their assist tally which stood at 28 by game's end – showcasing their ability to share and move the ball effectively to create scoring opportunities. This collaborative effort resulted in fifteen three-pointers made, contributing significantly to their total score.

On individual performances, several players stepped up for Texas. The team saw a balanced attack with contributions across the board leading to thirty points scored in paint – matching that of West Virginia despite fewer attempts inside.

West Virginia struggled to find their rhythm throughout and couldn't keep pace with Texas' scoring efficiency. They managed only 38 percent shooting from field goal range and were less successful from long distance hitting just three out of thirteen attempts for a mere 23 percent completion rate.

The Mountaineers also had difficulty protecting possession as evidenced by their fifteen turnovers which Texas capitalized on by adding twenty-nine points off these errors alone. Despite pulling down more rebounds than Texas at thirty-seven compared to thirty-six, this advantage did not translate into control of game flow or momentum for West Virginia.

Looking ahead after this commanding win, fans can catch The Texas Longhorns next as they visit Houston Cougars at Fertitta Center on February 17th at noon Central Time. This matchup will be broadcast nationally on CBS where supporters can tune in to follow their team's progress through another exciting college basketball encounter.
