The game, held at United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock, saw the home team Texas Tech Red Raiders take control early on. By halftime, they had established a lead with 39 points against the Mavericks' 25. The second half continued to be dominated by Texas Tech as they added another 38 points to their tally. The visiting Mavericks fought back valiantly in the second half scoring 41 points but it wasn't enough to overcome their deficit.

The offensive efforts of Texas Tech were led by their impressive field goal percentage which stood at forty-five percent for the game. They also excelled beyond the arc, sinking ten three-pointers at a thirty-seven percent clip. Their free throw accuracy was notable as well, making eleven out of thirteen attempts which translates to an eighty-five percent success rate.

On defense and on the boards, Texas Tech was equally assertive. They outrebounded their opponents forty to thirty-three and managed nine steals throughout the contest. Their defensive prowess was further highlighted by three blocked shots and limiting turnovers; they did not commit any team turnovers during play.

The Mavericks showed resilience despite trailing behind for most of the match-up. They managed six blocks and surpassed Texas Tech with thirteen steals indicating their defensive agility. Offensively they were able to convert twenty-four field goals but struggled from long range making only eight out of twenty-eight three-point attempts resulting in a twenty-nine percent completion rate.

Notably for fans of The Red Raiders is that this victory came without relying heavily on fast break opportunities; they scored thirteen fast break points compared to just four from The Mavericks who also capitalized on sixteen second chance points due largely thanks to ten offensive rebounds.

As both teams committed seventeen player turnovers each, it was clear that ball security was an area that could use improvement moving forward for both sides.

Looking ahead after this solid performance at home, fans can anticipate seeing more action when The Red Raiders host Sam Houston State Bearkats next week at United Supermarkets Arena once again. Scheduled for December 28th at 7:00 PM local time (Central Time), supporters will have access through ESPN+ internet broadcast network ensuring no one misses out on what promises another exciting matchup right here in Lubbock.
