The team demonstrated efficiency from both inside and outside the arc, shooting 45 percent from the field and an impressive 37 percent from three-point range. Their free-throw accuracy was also noteworthy at 85 percent. Defensively, they managed to out-rebound their opponents by seven boards and capitalized on turnovers with 18 points off them.

The game prior saw another strong showing for Texas Tech against Vanderbilt's Commodores in Fort Worth's Dickies Arena.
