In front of a passionate crowd at the United Supermarkets Arena, the Texas Tech Red Raiders displayed remarkable tenacity and skill. The home team's offense was spearheaded by their precision from the free-throw line, converting an outstanding 87 percent of their attempts. This exceptional shooting contributed significantly to their total score.

The Red Raiders also showcased their defensive capabilities by matching the Knights' two blocks and five steals. However, it was on the boards where Texas Tech truly dominated; they outrebounded their opponents with a total of 44 rebounds compared to the Knights' 37. This included securing more offensive rebounds (13) than UCF (12), which allowed for additional scoring opportunities through second-chance points.

Offensively, both teams made an equal number of field goals (23), but it was Texas Tech's superior three-point shooting that made a difference. The Red Raiders hit seven out of twenty-one attempts from beyond the arc – achieving a solid three-point percentage rate of 33 percent – whereas UCF struggled with only five successful shots from twenty-four attempts for a lower rate of just 21 percent.

Texas Tech also demonstrated better ball distribution and teamwork as evidenced by their higher assist count at fourteen compared to eleven by UCF. Their assists-to-turnover ratio slightly edged out that of UCF's at 1.4 versus 1.38 respectively.

Despite committing more turnovers than UCF (10 vs. eight), Texas Tech managed to keep points off turnovers close, scoring seven points off turnovers while allowing eight points on turnovers themselves.

As fans look ahead after this hard-fought battle on home turf, they can anticipate another exciting matchup as the Texas Tech Red Raiders are scheduled to face off against Kansas Jayhawks next week on February 12th at United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock, TX. Fans can catch all the action live nationally on ESPN channel number two hundred six starting at eight o'clock in Central Time Zone evening hours.
