Tulane Green Wave Triumphs at Devlin Fieldhouse in Men's Basketball Showdown

In a competitive matchup at Devlin Fieldhouse, the Tulane Green Wave emerged victorious over the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks with a final score of 75-60. The home team's season record now stands impressively at 1-0, while the visiting Warhawks fall to 0-1.

The Green Wave demonstrated remarkable offensive efficiency throughout the game, converting on 65 percent of their two-point attempts and finishing with an overall field goal percentage of 48. Their prowess from beyond the arc was also notable as they sank 10 three-pointers at a rate of 33 percent. The team's free throw performance was solid, making 11 out of their 15 attempts which translates to a free throw percentage of about 73.

Defensively, Tulane showed tenacity by accumulating eight steals and matching the Warhawks' three blocks. They capitalized on turnovers significantly better than their opponents, scoring an impressive total of 24 points off turnovers compared to just seven by Louisiana-Monroe. This aggressive defense complemented their offense well and played a key role in securing their lead.

The Warhawks were not without merit; they made valiant efforts reflected in their statistics but fell short against Tulane's robust gameplay. They shot approximately 39 percent from the field and made eight out of their twenty-three three-point attempts for a three-point percentage around 35. From the charity stripe, they were fairly accurate as well—making eight out of eleven free throws (approximately seventy-three percent). However, despite recording nineteen assists and grabbing thirty-six rebounds (twenty-five defensive and nine offensive), it wasn't enough to overcome Tulane’s momentum.

A standout aspect for both teams was ball distribution; however, it was more efficient for Tulane who had seventeen assists with only nine turnovers resulting in an assist-to-turnover ratio near two—better than Louisiana-Monroe’s ratio which stood around one point five.

Looking ahead after this strong performance at home, fans can anticipate another exciting game as the Tulane Green Wave is set to face off against Fordham Rams next month on December third at four-thirty PM local time back here at Devlin Fieldhouse in New Orleans. The match will be available for viewing on ESPN+, ensuring fans won’t miss any action from what promises to be another engaging contest for Tulane basketball enthusiasts.
