In front of a home crowd at Devlin Fieldhouse, the Tulane Green Wave put up an ardent fight against the visiting Charlotte 49ers. Despite trailing by nine points at halftime, the Green Wave surged back in the second half to outscore their opponents by five points. The team showcased resilience and determination as they clawed back into contention.

The home team's offense was spearheaded by their ability to penetrate inside, amassing an impressive total of 42 points in the paint compared to Charlotte's 28. This inside dominance was complemented by converting two-point attempts at a rate of forty-nine percent. However, struggles from beyond the arc were evident for both teams as each made six three-point shots on twenty-three attempts, reflecting an identical three-point shooting percentage of twenty-six percent.

Defensively, Tulane managed to block four shots and came away with five steals during the game. Their defensive efforts also translated into six points off turnovers – a testament to their ability to capitalize on Charlotte’s mistakes. Yet it was not enough to overcome their rivals who had twelve second-chance points and scored four points off turnovers themselves.

On individual performances for Tulane, every player contributed valiantly but collectively they fell short against a well-rounded effort from Charlotte who had eleven assists and only committed nine turnovers throughout the game.

Despite having no remaining timeouts towards crunch time which might have allowed them for strategic adjustments or rest periods for key players – Tulane kept fighting until the last buzzer sounded but ultimately could not bridge that final gap in scoreline.

Looking ahead after this hard-fought battle at home ground; fans can catch The Tulane Green Wave next when they visit Moody Coliseum in Dallas on February 1st for another conference showdown against SMU Mustangs scheduled for tip-off at 6:00 PM Central Time. This matchup will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2 channel two hundred nine ensuring fans won't miss any action from this upcoming encounter.
