UCLA Prepares for Showdown with Arizona State at Iconic Pauley Pavilion
As the UCLA Bruins prepare to host the Arizona State Sun Devils, fans are eager for what promises to be a gripping encounter at Pauley Pavilion. The Bruins have shown resilience in their recent outings, displaying a trend of tight games that often come down to the wire.
In their last game against the Trojans, despite outrebounding their opponents 34-29 and shooting an impressive 89 percent from the free-throw line, they fell short by six points. A notable area of concern was their three-point shooting percentage which stood at just 21 percent. This aspect of play will need sharpening if they hope to overcome the Sun Devils.
Prior to that, in a nail-biting face-off with the Utes, UCLA managed a one-point deficit victory. They showed tenacity on both ends of the court with better ball security than previous games – turning it over only five times – and an assist-turnover ratio of 1.75. Their free-throw accuracy was exceptional at 93 percent; however, once again long-range shots were not falling as they would like them to.
Against the Buffaloes earlier in February, UCLA secured another close win by four points. They matched up well on rebounds but struggled from beyond the arc with only a 33 percent success rate on three-pointers.
The upcoming game against Arizona State presents an opportunity for UCLA to capitalize on home-court advantage and improve upon areas that have been less than stellar in recent performances – particularly perimeter shooting and maintaining possession.
Fans can look forward to this matchup scheduled for March 9th at 8:00 PM local time in Los Angeles at Pauley Pavilion. The game will be broadcasted live on Fox Sports 1 for those who can't make it in person but still want to catch all the action as it unfolds.
