UNLV Runnin' Rebels Dominate at Thomas & Mack Center in Men's Basketball Showdown

In a display of home-court advantage, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Runnin' Rebels secured a decisive victory over the Hofstra Pride with a final score of 74-56. The Runnin' Rebels now stand with an improved record, while the Pride faces a setback after this encounter.

The game at Thomas & Mack Center saw the University of Nevada, Las Vegas team take control early on and maintain their lead throughout. The first half ended with the Runnin' Rebels ahead by 12 points, and they continued to build on that foundation in the second half. With an impressive field goal percentage of 48 compared to Hofstra's 38 percent shooting accuracy, it was clear that UNLV had found their rhythm on offense.


The University of Nevada, Las Vegas also excelled defensively with seven blocks to Hofstra's one and outrebounded their opponents by nine. This defensive solidity limited Hofstra's scoring opportunities and was instrumental in UNLV maintaining their lead. Furthermore, UNLV capitalized on turnovers scoring 12 points off them while only allowing Hofstra to score 14 points from similar opportunities.


On offense, UNLV showcased balanced teamwork with 19 assists leading to well-executed plays. Their two-point shooting was particularly effective as they made nearly six out of ten attempts from inside the arc for a total of 36 points in paint. Additionally, they converted free throws at an impressive rate making six out seven attempts.


Hofstra did have moments where they shone through; notably from beyond the arc where they made eight three-pointers contributing significantly to their total scoreline. They also fought hard for second-chance points putting up twelve against UNLV’s eighteen.
