Rebels Set to Soar Against Falcons in Clune Arena Showdown

As the UNLV Runnin' Rebels gear up for their next challenge against the Air Force Falcons, fans are buzzing with anticipation. The Rebels have been on a commendable trajectory, showcasing their prowess on the court with a series of impressive performances that suggest they're more than ready to take on their opponents at Clune Arena.

Air Force Falcons VS UNLV Rebels

In their last game on December 22, 2023, UNLV displayed a dominant performance against Hofstra Pride at Thomas & Mack Center. With an 18-point victory margin and an outstanding field goal percentage of 48 percent, they proved that efficiency and teamwork are the cornerstones of their gameplay. Their two-point shots were sinking at an impressive rate of 59 percent, which was complemented by a solid three-point shooting percentage of 36 percent. This offensive firepower was backed by a robust defense that racked up seven blocks and kept turnovers down to just ten.

The Rebels' ability to convert opportunities into points was evident as they scored 12 points off turnovers and capitalized on second-chance opportunities with another 18 points. The team's synergy shone through with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.9 – evidence that when UNLV shares the ball, they're hard to stop.

Comparatively, in one of their more challenging games against Saint Mary's Gaels on December 17, which extended into double overtime before ending in defeat by just two points, UNLV showed resilience and determination. Despite foul troubles leading to three players fouling out and only converting at a rate of 33 percent from the field overall – including just a mere five percent from beyond the arc – they managed to keep themselves in contention until the very end.

The upcoming game against AFA is poised for excitement as both teams bring unique strengths onto the hardwood floor. While Air Force will have home-court advantage within Clune Arena's walls and undoubtedly look to leverage this benefit fully; however, if recent performances are any indication – particularly UNLV's commanding win over Creighton Bluejays where they shot an incredible perfect free throw percentage (100) and maintained high energy throughout – it seems likely that UNLV will carry forward its momentum.

Fans should mark February 21st in their calendars as this is when these two teams will clash under Colorado Springs' bright lights at precisely midnight EST (February 22nd).
