UNLV Runnin' Rebels Set to Duel with Wyoming Cowboys at Arena-Auditorium

As the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Runnin' Rebels gear up for their next challenge against the Wyoming Cowboys at Arena-Auditorium, fans are holding their breath for what promises to be a riveting encounter. The Rebels have been on a rollercoaster this season, but their recent performances suggest they're finding a rhythm just in time for this crucial away game.

In their last outing on February 15 against Fresno State Bulldogs, UNLV narrowly edged out with a 67-65 victory. This win was characterized by an impressive display of efficiency inside the paint where they scored 38 points and shot an outstanding 64 percent from two-point range. Their free throw accuracy was also commendable at 78 percent. However, it wasn't all smooth sailing; the team's three-point shooting was lackluster at just 12 percent. Despite these struggles from beyond the arc, UNLV showed resilience and an ability to maintain composure under pressure.

Earlier in February, on the 11th against New Mexico Lobos – ranked 25th at that time – UNLV pulled off an impressive upset with an 80-77 win. This victory showcased their defensive prowess as they blocked six shots and made crucial steals that led to fast-break opportunities contributing eight points. Again, dominance in the paint proved vital as they amassed a whopping 48 points within that area.

The upcoming game poses different challenges as Wyoming has shown defensive tenacity in previous games. On February 4th when Wyoming visited Thomas & Mack Center, UNLV emerged victorious with a score of 62-48 despite being pushed hard defensively by the Cowboys who managed three blocks and forced numerous turnovers leading to only three points off turnovers for themselves.

For UNLV fans looking ahead to February 27th's clash in Laramie, there is reason for optimism based on recent performances but also areas requiring attention such as perimeter shooting which could prove decisive against Wyoming's stout defense.

The Runnin' Rebels will need to leverage their strengths – scoring inside and drawing fouls while improving upon weaknesses like outside shooting if they are going to come away with another conference win on enemy territory.

Fans can catch all the action live from Arena-Auditorium on Tuesday evening at six o'clock local time (8 PM Eastern) broadcasted nationally by CBS Sports Network on channel number two hundred twenty-one.
