Rebels and Spartans Set for Showdown at Thomas & Mack

As the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Runnin' Rebels prepare to host the San Jose State Spartans at the Thomas & Mack Center, fans are eager to see if UNLV can capitalize on their home-court advantage. The upcoming clash on March 2nd promises to be a pivotal moment in the season for both teams.

The Rebels have shown a mix of resilience and vulnerability in their recent outings. On February 18th against Nevada's Wolf Pack, UNLV fell just short with a final score of 66-69. Despite outstealing their opponents with five steals and blocking more shots, they couldn't convert these defensive efforts into a win. Their field goal percentage stood at 42 percent, which was decent but not enough to secure victory.

However, it was a different story when UNLV visited Fresno State's Bulldogs on February 15th. The Rebels emerged victorious with a scoreline of 67-65 in what was an intense battle that saw ten ties and four lead changes throughout the game. Their shooting was impressive as they hit 54 percent from the field and dominated points in paint with 38.

UNLV's most notable performance came during their visit to New Mexico's Lobos on February 11th where they put up an impressive display scoring 80 points against the then-ranked number 25 team. They shot nearly half of their attempts successfully from the field (49 percent) while also dominating inside by scoring almost half of their points (48) in paint.

The Spartans should not be underestimated though; they will come into this game looking to disrupt UNLV's rhythm and cause an upset away from home. However, given that nearly three-quarters of UNLV’s plays have been about asserting dominance especially within close range – as evidenced by consistently high points in paint – it seems likely that this trend will continue against SJSU.

Fans should expect UNLV to focus heavily on exploiting its strength inside while also tightening up defensively after allowing too many turnovers previously which led directly to opponent scores.

With all eyes set on March 2nd at Thomas & Mack Center for this thrilling encounter scheduled for tip-off at 7:00 PM local time (PST), fans can catch all the action live nationally on CBS Sports Network channel number two hundred twenty-one. This is one matchup you won't want to miss as both teams vie for supremacy on court!
