UNLV Runnin' Rebels Dominate Princeton Tigers at Jadwin Gymnasium

The UNLV Runnin' Rebels emerged victorious against the Princeton Tigers with a final score of 84-77. The Rebels, who had no rank going into the game, showcased their offensive might by maintaining a lead throughout both halves, scoring 36 in the first and amplifying their efforts with 48 in the second. The Tigers also fought hard, putting up 38 points initially and adding another 39 later on. However, it was not enough to overcome the Rebels' onslaught.

The UNLV Runnin' Rebels demonstrated remarkable efficiency on offense at Jadwin Gymnasium. They shot an impressive 61 percent from the field across both halves and were particularly effective inside the arc with a two-point shooting percentage of 68 percent. Their prowess from beyond the arc was also notable as they hit eight three-pointers at a solid rate of 47 percent.

Defensively, UNLV managed to secure a total of 36 rebounds equally split between personal and defensive boards while limiting their own turnovers to just sixteen for the entire game. This strong rebounding performance was complemented by an aggressive defense that racked up five steals and blocked two shots.

In contrast, despite their valiant effort and higher assist count of fifteen compared to thirteen by UNLV, Princeton struggled with turnovers which they limited to eight but were outdone in fast break points where they only scored four against UNLV's fourteen. The Tigers did manage thirteen steals which contributed to sixteen points off turnovers matching those scored by UNLV in this category.

One area where Princeton excelled was second-chance points where they outscored UNLV twelve to eight thanks largely due to their offensive rebounding efforts that saw them grab five boards on that end.

As fans look ahead after this intense matchup at Jadwin Gymnasium, attention turns back home for the next challenge awaiting the Runnin' Rebels. The team is set for another showdown as they host Boston College Eagles at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas on March 24th at 9:30 PM Eastern Time (6:30 PM Pacific Time).
