The USC Trojans started strong with an impressive first half, putting up 35 points to the Wildcats' commanding 45. Despite trailing, they showcased a robust offensive effort led by their ability to convert two-point shots at a solid 49 percent rate. Their agility on the court was evident as they amassed eight steals and four blocks throughout the game, signaling a resilient defensive stance.

USC's performance was bolstered by their teamwork; they tallied 19 assists which facilitated scoring opportunities across the board. However, ball control proved challenging for them as they turned over possession on 19 occasions. This aspect of play slightly dampened their otherwise notable efforts which included securing eight fast break points and maintaining an assists turnover ratio of exactly 1.0.

On offense, USC managed to sink seven out of nine free throws taken during play – an impressive accuracy rate rounding up to about 78 percent from the line. Their tenacity under both baskets was reflected in grabbing nine offensive rebounds contributing to second-chance points tallying up to eleven.

In contrast, despite facing fierce competition from USC's squad, Arizona capitalized on turnovers scoring sixteen points off these opportunities and demonstrated superior rebounding prowess with forty-seven total rebounds compared to USC's thirty-eight. The Wildcats also excelled in fast-break situations where they scored seventeen points showcasing their speed and transition efficiency.

Arizona's three-point shooting edged out that of USC as well; hitting ten out of twenty-six attempts gave them approximately a 38 percent success rate from beyond the arc compared to USC’s eight made threes at about one-third effectiveness (33 percent). Additionally, Arizona made good use of their free throw opportunities converting sixteen out of twenty-six attempts which rounded up translates into approximately sixty-two percent completion.
