Key Performances from USC

The game was a showcase of talent and skill from both teams, but several players from the USC Trojans stood out despite the loss. Clark Slajchert led his team in scoring with an impressive 24 points, demonstrating remarkable efficiency by shooting 82 percent from the field and achieving a perfect three-point percentage on his attempts. His performance was not only about scoring; he also contributed two assists, maintaining an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.0.

Wesley Yates followed closely behind in terms of point contribution with 15 points to his name. Yates showed versatility in his playstyle by making half of his three-point attempts and shooting 38 percent overall from the field.

On defense, Kevin Patton made his presence felt by blocking three shots and stealing once over just ten minutes on court—highlighting how impactful he can be in limited playing time.

Northwestern's Counterattack

The Northwestern Wildcats had their moments as well, particularly through bench contributions which amounted to 26 points compared to USC's bench adding only eleven points to their total score. The home team capitalized on turnovers as well, scoring twelve points off turnovers while limiting themselves to seven total turnovers.

Their rebounding was superior too; they outrebounded USC by sixteen rebounds which played a crucial role in securing second-chance opportunities that resulted in twenty-four second-chance points for them.
