First Half

The first half saw both teams exchanging leads and showcasing their defensive prowess. The Trojans managed to build an early lead, thanks in part to their effective play inside the paint. With Jacob Cofie contributing significantly on both ends of the court, USC capitalized on second-chance opportunities and fast breaks. However, Purdue's resilience was evident as they clawed back into contention by halftime with a scoreline of 38-32.

Second Half

As play resumed, it was clear that neither team was willing to relent. The Trojans continued their aggressive approach under the basket but struggled from beyond the arc with only three successful three-pointers out of twenty attempts. Chad Baker-Mazara stood out for SC with his defensive efforts and scoring ability but faced stiff competition from Purdue's well-coordinated offense.

Despite USC's strong rebounding performance led by Ezra Ausar and Gabe Dynes' contributions off the bench, turnovers proved costly for SC as they committed thirteen throughout the game compared to eight by Purdue.

Final Moments

In what became an intense final stretch, both teams vied for control amidst multiple lead changes and ties. Ultimately, it was Purdue who maintained composure under pressure; their efficient free throw shooting at seventy-three percent played a crucial role in securing victory over SC.

Following this encounter between two determined squads comes another test: The Northwestern Wildcats will visit Los Angeles on January 21st at Galen Center where fans can catch all action live via BTN network starting at 11:00 PM EDT (8:00 PM PDT).
