Aggies and Lobos Set to Clash in Logan: A Battle of Strategy and Skill

As the Utah State Aggies prepare to host the New Mexico Lobos at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum, fans are eager for what promises to be an enthralling encounter. The Aggies have shown a mixed bag of results in their recent outings, which suggests that consistency is something they'll be keen to establish.

In their last game against Fresno State Bulldogs, the Aggies secured a narrow victory with a scoreline of 77-73 after pushing into overtime. Their resilience was on display as they managed to out-rebound their opponents with 39 rebounds and maintained a commendable field goal percentage of 52 percent. However, turnovers were an area of concern as they gave up possession 17 times.

The previous home game saw them overcome San Diego State Aztecs by five points, finishing at 68-63. The Aggies showcased an efficient shooting performance from inside the arc with a two-point field goal percentage of 62 percent and dished out an impressive number of assists (16), indicating strong team cohesion.

However, it wasn't all smooth sailing as they faced defeat on the road against Colorado State Rams with a scoreline that read 55-75. Despite putting up five blocks and securing five steals, their shooting from beyond the arc was lackluster at just 27 percent.

As we look ahead to this matchup against UNM, it's clear that rebounding has been one of USU's strengths – something they will want to capitalize on once again. Reducing turnovers will also be crucial for them if they are going to control the game's tempo and keep pressure on New Mexico.

The Dee Glen Smith Spectrum has been known for its vibrant atmosphere which could play into USU’s hands; home-court advantage might just tip scales in favor when these two teams lock horns.

Fans can catch this exciting matchup live on CBS Sports Network or attend in person at Dee Glen Smith Spectrum in Logan, UT on March 9th at 6:30 PM local time.
