First Half

The first half saw both teams exchanging leads, with Utah State taking an early advantage thanks to their impressive three-point shooting. The Aggies managed to sink 15 out of their 34 attempts from beyond the arc, achieving an impressive accuracy rate of 44 percent. Garry Clark was instrumental in this effort, contributing significantly with his perimeter shooting skills. Despite their offensive prowess, Utah State struggled defensively against Nevada's fast break plays and points in the paint.

Second Half

As the second half unfolded, Nevada capitalized on their defensive rebounds and fast breaks to edge past Utah State. The Wolf Pack's ability to convert turnovers into points proved crucial as they scored 20 points off turnovers compared to Utah State's 21. Kolby King showcased his playmaking abilities for the Aggies by leading them with assists but couldn't prevent Nevada from pulling ahead late in the game.

Post Game Analysis

In post game analysis, it was evident that while Utah State excelled from long range and had more steals (12) than Nevada (3), they were outperformed inside by Nevada’s effective field goal percentage of 61 percent compared to their own at just over half that mark. This disparity highlighted where improvements could be made for future encounters.

Utah State coach post-game reaction emphasized resilience despite falling short and acknowledged areas needing refinement before facing San Diego next week.
