In front of 9,294 spectators at Jon M. Huntsman Center, the game was tightly contested with nine lead changes and eight times when the score was tied. Both teams ended the first half neck and neck at 31 points each. However, it was in the second half that Utah pulled ahead to secure their win with an additional 42 points against Colorado's 37.

The Utes showcased a balanced attack throughout the game. They shot an impressive 46 percent from the field on 56 attempts and were particularly effective inside, hitting 56 percent of their two-point shots on 34 attempts. From beyond the arc, they made seven out of their twenty-two three-point attempts for a modest success rate of about 32 percent.

Defensively, Utah also had a strong showing with five blocks to their name compared to just one from Colorado. The team's defensive efforts were further highlighted by six steals which contributed to twelve points off turnovers for Utah.

On offense, assists played a key role as well; fifteen assists were recorded by Utah players which is slightly higher than Colorado's thirteen assists during this matchup. This teamwork helped maintain possession as both teams ended up with fourteen turnovers each.

Utah excelled in fast break situations scoring twenty-one fast break points which outpaced Colorado’s seven by quite a margin. Points in paint were also dominated by Utah who scored thirty-eight compared to thirty-four by their opponents.

Despite being outrebounded overall (34 rebounds for Utah versus Colorado’s more substantial tally of forty-three), it did not deter them from maintaining control over much of the game's tempo and flow.

Looking forward to their next challenge, fans can catch The University of Arizona Wildcats facing off against The University of Utah Utes on February 8th at Jon M. Huntsman Center located at Salt Lake City UT; tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM local time (Mountain Time Zone).
