From the onset, the Virginia Cavaliers set an aggressive pace. They ended the first half with a solid lead, scoring 37 points to Syracuse's 24. The second half saw an even more dominant performance by Virginia, adding another 47 points to their tally while holding Syracuse to 38 points in that period.

The Cavaliers' offense was firing on all cylinders; they shot an impressive 55 percent from the field and were particularly lethal from beyond the arc, hitting 57 percent of their three-point attempts. Their free throw accuracy was also notable as they made 80 percent of their shots from the line.

Virginia's defense was equally effective. They blocked four shots and came away with eight steals during the game. This defensive pressure contributed to Syracuse turning over the ball fourteen times which led to eighteen points for Virginia off turnovers.

The team effort by Virginia was highlighted by their distribution of basketball as they racked up twenty-one assists throughout the game – showcasing excellent teamwork and fluid ball movement against Syracuse's defense.

On individual performances for Virginia, every player who stepped onto court seemed to contribute positively towards this comprehensive win – whether it be through scoring, rebounding or setting up teammates for easy baskets.

Syracuse did have moments where they shone through; shooting fifty percent from two-point range and contributing thirty points in paint matched that of Virginia’s own paint production. However, it wasn't enough against a well-rounded Cavaliers side that seemed one step ahead throughout most of playtime.

As fans look forward to future games at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, VA., they can mark December sixth on their calendars when Virginia will host North Carolina Central Eagles at seven PM Eastern Time. The match will be available for viewing on ACC Network Extra via internet broadcast networks – providing fans another opportunity to watch their team in action as part of this season's campaign.
