The Virginia Cavaliers faced a challenging contest against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, culminating in a 47-66 defeat. The Cavaliers struggled offensively throughout the game, managing to score only 21 points in the first half and improving slightly with 26 points in the second. Their field goal percentage was low at 28 percent from an attempt of 57 shots. From beyond the arc, they shot at a rate of 33 percent with four successful three-pointers out of twelve attempts. Despite these challenges, they excelled at free throws with an impressive accuracy rate of 73 percent.

Defensively, Virginia managed to block three shots and steal seven times from their opponents but were outrebounded by Wake Forest who secured a total of 41 rebounds compared to Virginia's 26. The Cavaliers' defensive efforts resulted in forcing seventeen turnovers from Wake Forest; however, they could not capitalize on these opportunities as effectively as needed.

A positive note for Virginia was their ability to distribute nine assists over the course of play and maintain an assists turnover ratio of about one point two nine (1.29). They also showed resilience under pressure by committing no team turnovers and making eleven free throws.

On contrast, Wake Forest demonstrated strong offensive execution with fifty percent shooting from both field goals and three-point range – sinking ten three-pointers – and an outstanding eighty-six percent from free throw line which contributed significantly to their victory margin.

Looking ahead for Virginia fans eager to support their team after this setback: The next game is scheduled against rivals Virginia Tech Hokies on January seventeenth at seven PM Eastern Time in Charlottesville's John Paul Jones Arena. This match will be broadcasted nationally on ESPNU channel two hundred eight (208), allowing fans across the country to tune in for what promises to be an exciting encounter between these two teams.
