First Half


The first half was an intense battle as both teams ended tied at 37 points. The Hoos showcased their defensive prowess with six blocks, limiting Ohio State's opportunities in the paint. Johann Grunloh played a crucial role for Virginia, contributing significantly on defense and helping maintain pressure on the Buckeye Nation.


Second Half


In the second half, Virginia capitalized on their bench strength, adding 28 points from non-starters. Sam Lewis and Malik Thomas were instrumental in this effort, combining for key baskets that kept UVA ahead. Ohio State fought back valiantly with effective fast breaks that netted them 14 points. However, their efforts were hampered by personal fouls and turnovers that allowed UVA to draw fouls and score from free throws efficiently.
