In front of a packed house of 8,925 fans, the Hokies demonstrated remarkable efficiency on their home court. The team shot an impressive 51 percent from the field and an even more notable 57 percent on two-point attempts. Their prowess from beyond the arc was also evident as they made seven out of eighteen three-point shots, translating to a solid 39 percent shooting performance.

Virginia Tech's offensive efforts were complemented by their ability to distribute the ball effectively, racking up 19 assists over the course of play. This facilitated scoring opportunities and showcased their collaborative gameplay. On defense, they managed to block three shots and steal possession four times from their opponents.

The Hokies' free throw accuracy was another highlight as they converted roughly 77 percent of their attempts from the line. They also dominated in points scored within the paint with a total of 40 compared to UVA's tally in this area.

On UVA's side, despite falling short on points scored overall, they put up a valiant fight throughout both halves. They ended with six blocks and six steals defensively but were slightly less efficient in shooting compared to VT with an overall field goal percentage rounding off at about 41 percent.

UVA did manage to secure more rebounds than VT with a total count standing at thirty-five against thirty-two for VT; however, it wasn't enough for them to take control away from VT who led throughout without any lead changes occurring during game time.

As we look ahead for Virginia Tech Hokies fans eagerly anticipating future matchups after this hard-fought victory over UVA Cavaliers – attention turns towards Boston College Eagles who will be visiting Cassell Coliseum next week Thursday night at seven o'clock Eastern Time.
