Virginia Tech Hokies Overwhelm Louisville Cardinals in Commanding Victory

At the KFC Yum! Center, home to the Louisville Cardinals, a crowd of 10,544 spectators witnessed a game where Virginia Tech's offense shone brightly. The team's shooting was on point with a field goal percentage of 48 and an even more impressive three-point shooting percentage of 45. Out of their total attempts from beyond the arc, they successfully made 13 shots. Their two-point attempts were also noteworthy as they converted them at a rate of 52 percent.


Defensively, Virginia Tech was just as dominant. They managed to secure ten steals over the course of the game which contributed significantly to their points off turnovers tallying up to 15. This defensive pressure led to eight turnovers for themselves but resulted in fourteen for their opponents.

The rebound battle was won by Virginia Tech as well; they collected a total of 34 rebounds compared to Louisville's 31. Of these rebounds, seven were on the offensive glass which allowed them additional second-chance opportunities resulting in five second-chance points.


Free throws were another area where Virginia Tech had an edge; they shot at a success rate of approximately 68 percent from the line making thirteen free throws out of nineteen attempts.

Assists are often indicative of good ball movement and teamwork; here again, Virginia Tech excelled with fifteen assists throughout the game which gave them an assists turnover ratio close to two (1.88).
