First Half


The first half saw both teams battling for dominance. The Hokies managed to edge ahead slightly, scoring 36 points compared to the Yellow Jackets' 30. Ben Hammond led the charge for Virginia Tech with his sharp shooting and efficient playmaking, contributing significantly to their early lead. Despite this advantage, Georgia Tech's defense kept them within striking distance by limiting Virginia Tech's field goal percentage to just 34 percent.


Second Half


In the second half, both teams scored an equal number of points—35 each—but it was Virginia Tech's ability to maintain their composure under pressure that made all the difference. A pivotal moment came when Jailen Bedford executed a crucial three-pointer that extended their lead and shifted momentum in favor of the home team. The Hokies capitalized on turnovers effectively, converting them into 20 points off turnovers compared to Georgia Tech’s seven.

Key Performances


Solomon Davis stood out defensively for Virginia Tech with his commanding presence in rebounds and blocks which helped stifle several offensive attempts by Georgia Tech. Meanwhile, Izaiah Pasha provided valuable support off the bench contributing both offensively and defensively during critical stretches of play.


On Georgia Tech’s side, despite falling short in securing a win, they showcased resilience through effective plays inside the paint where they scored an impressive total of 38 points against Virginia’s defense.
