The game was marked by several lead changes and both teams showed competitive spirit throughout. The Wake Forest Demon Deacons put up an impressive offensive performance, shooting over fifty percent from the field and converting ten three-pointers at a thirty-seven percent clip. They were particularly effective inside, scoring thirty-four points in the paint and making nineteen out of thirty attempts from two-point range for an exceptional sixty-three percent shooting.

Despite these efforts, it was not enough to secure victory. The team's free throw shooting hovered around sixty-one percent as they made eleven out of eighteen attempts. Ball handling was efficient for the Demon Deacons; they turned over possession only seven times while dishing out thirteen assists, reflecting an assists-to-turnover ratio of approximately two.

On defense, however, Wake Forest struggled to contain Pittsburgh's sharpshooters who sank eighteen three-pointers at forty-nine percent accuracy. Furthermore, despite grabbing thirty rebounds collectively with twenty-seven personal rebounds and contributing five steals to their defensive efforts, they were unable to register any blocks during the game.

The Pittsburgh Panthers capitalized on their opportunities from beyond the arc and maintained a solid forty-eight percent field goal percentage overall. Their ball distribution was noteworthy as well; they racked up twenty-two assists which helped them overcome their eleven turnovers.
