At PNC Arena, home to the Wolfpack, fans witnessed an intense battle where both teams displayed remarkable energy and skill. The Demon Deacons started strong, outscoring their opponents 45-35 in the first half. However, despite maintaining a high free throw percentage of 79 and sinking six three-pointers at a 33 percent success rate, they couldn't sustain their lead in the second half.

The Demon Deacons showed resilience on defense with two blocks and five steals but were outmatched by the Wolfpack who managed four blocks and ten steals. Wake Forest also demonstrated teamwork with eleven assists but had difficulty maintaining possession as evidenced by their seventeen turnovers.

Offensively, Wake Forest was effective inside, scoring thirty points in paint and adding twelve second-chance points to keep pressure on their opponents. They attempted thirty-eight two-point shots making eighteen for a shooting percentage of 47 from that range. Their overall field goal percentage stood at 43 after making twenty-four out of fifty-six attempts.

Rebounding was fiercely contested; however, Wake Forest secured thirty-two rebounds including eight offensive boards which contributed to additional scoring opportunities. Despite these efforts and leading by ten points at halftime, they were unable to maintain momentum against an invigorated Wolfpack offense in the second half.

North Carolina State turned up their game after halftime adding forty-eight points to overcome Wake Forest's early advantage. The home team dominated inside with fifty points coming from within paint and capitalized on turnovers scoring fourteen points off them compared to twelve by Wake Forest.

As for individual performances from Wake Forest players – although specific statistics are not provided – it can be inferred that contributions were made across various aspects such as scoring distribution among starters and bench players as well as defensive plays that kept them competitive throughout most of the game.

Looking ahead for fans of The Demon Deacons: mark your calendars for January 20th when they will take on Louisville Cardinals at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem. This midday matchup is scheduled for noon Eastern Time and will be broadcast nationally on ESPNU channel two hundred eight where fans can follow all action live.
