Wake Forest Dominates Syracuse at Home with a Commanding 99-70 Victory

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons delivered an impressive performance against the Syracuse Orange, culminating in a decisive 99-70 victory. The Demon Deacons' record now stands at an unblemished 0-0, while the Orange fall to 0-0. The home team's offensive firepower was on full display as they outscored their opponents in both halves, starting strong with a 42-point opening and finishing even stronger with a staggering 57 points in the second half.

The Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum witnessed the Demon Deacons' relentless attack as they shot an exceptional 66 percent from the field compared to Syracuse's modest 40 percent. Wake Forest also excelled beyond the arc, sinking an impressive twelve three-pointers at a remarkable rate of 63 percent. Their dominance extended inside as well, where they racked up a substantial 40 points in the paint.


Wake Forest's defensive efforts were equally noteworthy; they managed to block two shots and steal possession five times from their opponents. This aggressive defense limited Syracuse to just one successful block and eight steals throughout the game. Moreover, Wake Forest capitalized on turnovers by scoring twelve points off of them.


On top of their defensive prowess, Wake Forest showcased superior ball distribution with sixteen assists leading to baskets – demonstrating effective teamwork and communication on court. In contrast, Syracuse could only muster twelve assists during their struggle against Wake Forest's defense.


Rebounding was another area where Wake Forest excelled; they pulled down thirty-six rebounds including thirty defensively which helped limit second-chance opportunities for Syracuse who had twenty-three rebounds overall. The Demon Deacons also kept personal fouls to seventeen while maintaining discipline without any player being fouled out or ejected from play.
