Can Wake Forest Demon Deacons Outmaneuver Virginia Tech Hokies at Cassell Coliseum?

As the Wake Forest Demon Deacons prepare to face off against the Virginia Tech Hokies at Cassell Coliseum, fans are eager to see if their team can carry forward the momentum from their recent performances. The upcoming clash on March 2nd is poised to be a riveting encounter, and all eyes will be on WAKE as they step into enemy territory.

The Demon Deacons have shown resilience in their past games, with a notable victory over North Carolina State's Wolfpack on February 10th. Despite being outrebounded 32-35, WAKE managed an impressive win with an 83-79 scoreline. Their shooting was particularly effective that day; they boasted a field goal percentage of 48 and were lethal from the free-throw line with an accuracy of 81 percent.

However, consistency has been a concern for WAKE. In their game against the Cavaliers on February 17th, they fell short by just two points in a nail-biting finish. Scoring only 47 points compared to UVA's 49 highlighted some offensive struggles for WAKE – they shot just 34 percent from the field and had difficulty beyond the arc with only a 24 percent success rate from three-point range.

Against Duke's Blue Devils earlier that month on February 13th, despite putting up a valiant effort and scoring more in the second half than in the first (42 points vs. 27), WAKE couldn't overcome Duke's robust defense and sharpshooting – which led them to fall by eight points (69-77).

Looking ahead to their game against VT, it is crucial for WAKE to tighten up defensively while maintaining efficiency in scoring inside the paint where they've excelled previously. The Hokies' home advantage at Cassell Coliseum will undoubtedly play into VT’s hands; however, if Wake Forest can leverage its fast break opportunities as done before and capitalize on turnovers like they did against NCST (15 points off turnovers), there’s potential for an upset.

WAKE needs strong leadership from its coaching staff and key players must step up – especially considering that ball security has been less than ideal recently with double-digit turnovers in each of these past games.

Demon Deacon fans should expect nothing less than maximum effort as their team battles it out against VT. With strategic adjustments and focused execution during crunch time moments, there’s reason to believe that Wake Forest could emerge victorious even away from home soil.

Mark your calendars: this pivotal matchup is scheduled for March 2nd at Cassell Coliseum starting at precisely at5:30 PM EST. Fans won’t want to miss this showdown broadcasted nationally on The CW network – it promises all the intensity college basketball has become known for!
