Wake Forest Demon Deacons Set to Challenge Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Capital One Arena

As the Wake Forest Demon Deacons prepare to face off against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, fans are eagerly anticipating what promises to be a thrilling encounter at the Capital One Arena. The WAKE team comes into this game with a mixed bag of recent performances, but there's every reason to believe that they can turn the tide in their favor.

In their last outing on March 9th against Clemson Tigers, WAKE showcased an impressive offensive display, securing an 81-76 victory. Their shooting was particularly effective; they boasted a field goal percentage of 58 percent and were successful on 43 percent of their three-point attempts. This level of accuracy from beyond the arc could prove pivotal against ND.

However, it wasn't just WAKE's shooting that caught the eye – their ball distribution was also noteworthy with 15 assists, suggesting a cohesive unit capable of unlocking even the most stubborn defenses. Moreover, they managed to out-rebound Clemson by two boards and turned over the ball less frequently than in previous games.

On March 6th versus Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, despite falling short by one point with a final score of 69-70, WAKE demonstrated resilience and an ability to claw back into contention after being down at halftime. They improved their two-point field goal percentage in this game compared to previous matches and maintained commendable free throw accuracy at 85 percent.

One area for concern might be consistency; while WAKE has shown they can put up points in bunches as evidenced by scoring bursts against both Clemson and Georgia Tech, maintaining defensive intensity will be crucial. In contrast to these performances was their February encounter with Virginia Tech Hokies where despite scoring well (76 points), defense let them down leading to an 87-76 defeat.

The upcoming clash is not just about offense though; it will test every facet of WAKE's game plan. ND brings its own set of challenges – including a robust defense that has been difficult for opponents to break down throughout the season.

For fans looking forward to this matchup on March 13th at Capital One Arena scheduled for tip-off at 2:30 PM EDT – it’s clear that if Wake Forest Demon Deacons can replicate their offensive efficiency from recent games while tightening up defensively when needed – they stand a good chance of emerging victorious over Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The game promises excitement and is sure not one you want miss out on watching live on ESPN.
