Huskies' Late Surge Not Enough to Eclipse the Cardinal at Maples Pavilion

The Washington Huskies faced a tough challenge against the Stanford Cardinal, culminating in a hard-fought 80-90 loss. The Huskies now stand with an additional defeat to their record, while the Cardinal bolstered their victories. Washington's offense was led by remarkable shooting accuracy from two-point range at fifty-six percent and a commendable free throw performance of eighty-eight percent accuracy. They also capitalized on fast breaks contributing thirteen points from such opportunities. However, they struggled beyond the arc with only thirty-three percent of three-point shots finding their mark.


Defensively, Washington managed seven steals and blocked three shots but were outrebounded by Stanford who grabbed thirty-one rebounds over Washington's twenty-eight. The Huskies also committed twenty-three personal fouls which contributed to one player being fouled out of the game.


Stanford showcased strong teamwork with seventeen assists leading to efficient ball movement and scoring opportunities. Their sharpshooters excelled from three-point land hitting fifty-four percent of their attempts which significantly contributed to maintaining their lead throughout the game.


As for individual performances on both sides were notable but remained within team-oriented play styles that emphasized collective effort over solo heroics.
