Cougars Set to Clash with Eagles at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena

As the Washington State Cougars prepare to face off against the Eastern Washington Eagles at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena, fans are eager for insights into how their team might perform. Based on recent performances, there's a strong case to be made that the Cougars have what it takes to dominate in this upcoming game.

Washington State Cougars VS Santa Clara Broncos

In their last outing on November 16 against Prairie View A&M Panthers, WSU scored 59 points but fell short as they allowed 70 points. Despite this loss, there were positive takeaways for the Cougars. Their free-throw percentage was impressive at 83 percent and they managed a respectable number of total rebounds with 31. However, turnovers were an issue as they gave up possession 15 times and only made seven out of twenty-one three-point attempts.

Comparing these statistics to their performance on November 13 against Boise State Broncos shows some consistency in areas needing improvement. The Cougars scored slightly higher with 61 points but again conceded more than they scored, allowing the Broncos to put up 71 points. Turnovers remained a concern with another tally of fifteen and while their two-point field goal percentage improved slightly to around 43 percent, it wasn't enough for a win.

However, looking back at their game on November 8 against Texas State Bobcats gives fans reason for optimism. The Cougars excelled with an impressive scoreline of 83-61 in their favor. They showcased strong offensive capabilities by making nearly half of their field goals and over two-thirds from the free-throw line. Their defensive play was also notable; eight blocks and six steals contributed significantly to this victory.

The key takeaway from these past games is that when WSU controls turnovers and maintains solid defense while capitalizing on scoring opportunities—especially from within the paint where they've shown strength—they can be formidable opponents.

The upcoming match-up presents an opportunity for redemption after recent setbacks. If WSU can replicate the form shown in early November rather than mid-month stumbles, fans could witness a compelling victory over EWU.

Supporters should mark their calendars for November 22nd when these teams will tip-off at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena at precisely midnight Eastern Time (9 PM Pacific).
