Clash at Beasley Coliseum: Washington State Cougars to Face UC Riverside Highlanders

As the Washington State Cougars prepare to host the UC Riverside Highlanders at Beasley Coliseum, fans are buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be an electrifying matchup. The Cougars have been on a tear lately, and their recent performances suggest that they could continue their winning ways against UCRV.

Washington State Cougars VS Santa Clara Broncos

In their last game on December 2nd, WSU showcased a dominant interior presence against Portland State Vikings, outscoring them in the paint by a staggering 50 points. Their field goal percentage was an impressive 51 percent overall, and they were particularly effective from two-point range, hitting nearly 59 percent of those shots. This inside dominance is something that could very well carry over into the upcoming game.

The Cougars' defense has also been noteworthy; they racked up 10 blocks in their previous outing. This defensive prowess will be critical when facing UCRV's offense. While WSU's three-point shooting was not as sharp as it could be—making just two out of eleven attempts—their ability to score inside and defend may well compensate for any perimeter shortcomings.

On November 28th against Eastern Washington Eagles, WSU continued to impress with an offensive showcase that led them to an 82-72 victory. They capitalized on turnovers scoring 21 points off them and grabbed significant second-chance points tallying up to 21 as well. These aspects of play will be vital in establishing control early on against the Highlanders.

Furthermore, looking back at November 24th’s game versus Utah Tech Trailblazers where WSU triumphed with a score of 93-53, it’s clear that when this team gets hot from beyond the arc—they are nearly unstoppable. They shot an incredible 65 percent from three-point land during that contest.

However, it would be unwise to underestimate UCRV who come into this game eager for a win themselves. The Highlanders have shown resilience this season and will look to disrupt WSU's rhythm with strategic plays and tough defense.

The stage is set for December 7th at Beasley Coliseum where fans can expect the Washington State Cougars’ robust offense and stingy defense to challenge UC Riverside Highlanders' resolve in what promises to be a thrilling encounter under the bright lights of Pullman’s pride venue. Tip-off is scheduled for late evening at precisely ten past six o'clock local time (PST), so mark your calendars!
