Looking back at their past games, the Cougars have displayed a trend of robust defense coupled with an opportunistic offense. In their face-off against Boise State Broncos, they emerged victorious with 66 points to 61. Their ability to convert turnovers into points was notable as they scored 11 points off turnovers and outpaced the Broncos with 14 fast break points. The team also showed resilience on defense with six steals and two blocks.

In another close game against Santa Clara Broncos, despite being on the road in Phoenix, Arizona, the Cougars fell short by just eight points (61-69). However, they demonstrated tenacity on the boards by grabbing 44 rebounds and maintaining a solid presence in fast break situations with 13 fast break points.

The most commanding performance came against Grambling State Tigers where WSU dominated both ends of the floor leading to an impressive 83-65 victory. Their offensive execution was sharp; shooting an exceptional fifty percent from beyond the arc and sixty percent from two-point range. Defensively they forced sixteen turnovers converting them into twenty-one points off turnovers.

These trends suggest that Washington State's strategy has been effective when it comes to converting defensive plays into offensive opportunities while maintaining pressure through fast-paced play.
