Can Washington State Cougars Extend Their Dominance After Decisive Victory Over Cardinal?

In a display of offensive efficiency, the Washington State Cougars outscored the Stanford Cardinal 79-62 in a game that showcased their higher rank at number 22. The Cougars' record now stands at an impressive 22-9, while the Cardinal fell to a less fortunate tally of 14-16. The first half saw the Cougars take command with a score of 45-29, and they maintained their lead by adding another 34 points in the second half against the Cardinal's additional 33.

The Washington State Cougars demonstrated remarkable shooting accuracy throughout the game with an overall field goal percentage of 51 percent. They were particularly effective inside, where they scored an impressive total of 42 points in paint and made over three-fifths of their two-point attempts. From beyond the arc, they shot at a solid rate, sinking seven out of twenty-two three-pointers for a three-point shooting percentage rounding to about one-third.

Defensively, the Cougars matched their opponents with seven steals each but managed to surpass them with three blocks to none from Stanford. This defensive prowess contributed significantly to their fast break points tallying up to seventeen compared to only two from Stanford. Furthermore, Washington State capitalized on turnovers more effectively than Stanford did; scoring thirteen points off turnovers while limiting Stanford's count to nine.

Rebounding was another area where Washington State excelled; pulling down thirty-nine rebounds compared to twenty-five by Stanford. The differential was especially noticeable on offense where Washington State grabbed nine offensive boards leading to nine second-chance points.

Assists also told a story of teamwork and fluid ball movement for the Cougars who accumulated eighteen assists over thirteen by Stanford. This facilitated an assist-to-turnover ratio for Washington State that was substantially higher than that achieved by its opponent – approximately one point eight versus one point eighteen.

Looking ahead after this commanding performance in Las Vegas at T-Mobile Arena, fans can anticipate watching how well this momentum carries into future games for their team. The next challenge awaiting them will be against Colorado Buffaloes on March 15th at T-Mobile Arena once again – ensuring home advantage remains with them as they continue through this season's fixtures. Fans eager not miss any action can tune into Fox Sports 1 for live coverage starting at 7:30 PM Pacific Time as these teams face off once more on court.
