Mountaineers Set to Defend Home Court Against Red Raiders

In their last encounter with Baylor Bears, the Mountaineers scored an impressive 81 points with a field goal percentage of 53 percent and were particularly effective from beyond the arc, hitting 42 percent of their three-point attempts. However, turnovers were a concern as they gave up possession 14 times which translated into 12 points for Baylor. Their assist-to-turnover ratio stood at 1.15.

The previous away game against TCU Horned Frogs highlighted some challenges for West Virginia as they struggled with ball control, turning it over 19 times which led to eight points off turnovers for TCU. Despite shooting well from the free-throw line at an impressive rate of 83 percent, they could not capitalize on other scoring opportunities and lost by a margin.

Another away game saw them face Texas Longhorns where they managed only a field goal percentage of 38 percent and turned over the ball fifteen times leading to six points off turnovers for Texas. Their assists were low at six total for that game indicating potential issues in creating scoring opportunities.

As we look ahead to their matchup against Texas Tech Red Raiders, it's clear that protecting possession will be crucial for West Virginia if they are to leverage their home-court advantage effectively. Fans should expect an intense battle as both teams vie for dominance on court.
