Mountaineers' Effort Falls Short Against TCU's Sharp Shooting at WVU Coliseum

The West Virginia Mountaineers faced off against the Horned Frogs in a conference game that ended with the scoreboard reading 93-81. In front of a crowd of 9,674 at WVU Coliseum in Morgantown, the West Virginia Mountaineers displayed commendable offensive skills but ultimately fell to TCU's Horned Frogs. The first half concluded with TCU leading by fifteen points, and although the Mountaineers outscored their opponents in the second half by three points, it was not enough to close the gap.


The home team showcased remarkable accuracy from two-point range with a shooting percentage of sixty-eight percent and overall field goal percentage standing at fifty-seven percent. They dominated inside with forty-eight points in paint and managed to convert nineteen free throws from thirty-four attempts for a free throw percentage of fifty-six percent. However, they struggled beyond the arc hitting only four out of fourteen attempts which translated into twenty-nine percent three-point shooting.

West Virginia's ball handling resulted in fifteen turnovers but they also dished out sixteen assists during the game. Their assist-to-turnover ratio stood slightly above one. On defense, they managed two blocks and two steals throughout this hard-fought contest.


On TCU's side, their offense was firing on all cylinders as they hit thirty field goals including eleven three-point shots for an impressive forty-eight percent from downtown. Their overall field goal percentage was fifty-six percent and they excelled at free throws making twenty-two out of twenty-six for eighty-five percent accuracy.

The Horned Frogs capitalized on turnovers scoring twenty points off them while also adding twelve fast break points to their tally. They were active defensively as well registering nine steals and three blocks against West Virginia.
