Defensively, the Hilltoppers were just as formidable; they blocked six shots and made six steals during the game. Their rebounding efforts were superior as well, grabbing a total of 40 rebounds—32 defensive and eight offensive—which played a crucial role in maintaining possession and creating second-chance opportunities.

The home team's assist-to-turnover ratio stood at 1.06 with seventeen assists to sixteen turnovers—a testament to their ball distribution despite some challenges in ball handling. In contrast to their opponents who had no remaining timeouts by halftime, the Hilltoppers managed their game well enough to have two timeouts left at its conclusion.
