Badgers Narrowly Outscored by Wolverines in a Close Contest at Crisler Center

In a closely contested battle at the Crisler Center, the Wisconsin Badgers, ranked 11th with a record of 68-72, were narrowly defeated by the unranked Michigan Wolverines. The Badgers put up an impressive fight throughout both halves of the game, scoring 33 in the first and adding another 35 in the second. However, it wasn't quite enough to overcome their opponents who scored 37 and then matched Wisconsin's second-half effort with another 35 points.

The Wisconsin Badgers showcased a strong offensive performance with their field goal percentage settling at 46 percent from an attempt of 54 shots. They were particularly dominant inside, scoring a notable 40 points in the paint. From beyond the arc, they managed to convert five out of nineteen attempts which calculated to a three-point shooting percentage of just about 26 percent.

On defense though, they struggled to contain Michigan's offense which was evident as they did not register any blocks compared to five from their opponents. The Badgers also committed eighteen personal fouls but managed to keep all players from fouling out or being ejected.

Wisconsin's rebounding efforts saw them grab twenty-eight boards overall—eighteen defensively and ten on offense—which included five team rebounds. Their ball handling resulted in twelve turnovers for themselves while forcing an equal number from Michigan; however, they only capitalized with nine points off those turnovers.

Free throws were another area where Wisconsin could have gained ground but fell short; hitting thirteen out of nineteen free throw attempts gave them a free throw percentage of approximately sixty-eight percent. Despite these challenges, their hustle on court was evident as they snatched five steals over the course of play.

Looking ahead for fans eager to follow their team's progress: The next game for the Wisconsin Badgers will be against Rutgers Scarlet Knights at Jersey Mike's Arena located in Piscataway on February 10th at around noon Eastern Time (11:00 AM Central). This matchup can be caught live on television through BTN network channel six hundred ten for those watching nationally.
